Plateau Court Acquits Former Governor Jang Of N6.3b Fraud Allegations

A Plateau State High Court has discharged and acquitted former governor Jonah Jang of allegations of corruption.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had filed 17-count charges of N6.3b levelled against Jang and a former cashier to the Plateau Government, Mr. Yusuf Pam.

In his ruling on the matter on Friday, Justice Christy Dapub, said the EFCC could not prove the allegations of misappropriation and diversion of funds against the former governor.

The court thereafter quashed all the charges filed against the former Governor and the government cashier, saying that it lacked merit.
